General Information

gavel Greek legislation permits:

  • fertility treatments up to the age of 54
  • both anonymous and eponymous* egg donation
  • donor egg groups 18 - 35 with optimal ovarian reserve

medical_services At Newlife IVF Greece egg donation cycles are performed:

  • using anonymous fresh donor eggs
  • matching characteristics
  • blood group matching
  • waiting time – subject to time required for matching and preparing the treatment

science Blood tests performed on egg donor by Newlife IVF Greece:

  • Blood Group & Rhesus factor
  • Hepatitis B (anti-Hbc, HbsAG)
  • Hepatitis C (anti-HCV)
  • HIV I+II
  • Syphilis (RPR/VDRL)
  • CMV infection status (IgG & IgM)
  • Screening for genital tract infections
  • Full Blood count
  • Hb electrophoresis
  • Molecular testing for Thalassemia mutations (α-globin, β-globin, δ-globin cluster)
  • Karyotype
  • Fragile X
  • Cystic Fibrosis (99% of most common mutations)
  • SMA - Spinal Muscular Atrophy
  • Non-syndromic deafness (GJB2-mutation 35delG)
  • Just before the donor's egg collection Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) for Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV) and HIV
  • Psychological assessment
  • Cross-check questionnaires to confirm personal and family medical history
  • Questionnaire to reveal a possible genetic disease

info Apart from these standard investigations we may run additional tests (e.g. extended carrier donor screening) depending on the recipient’s background or requests.

1. Standard Egg Donation Package

Cost: 6900€*

Guarantee: At least two top quality blastocysts
There are certain restrictions entering the program based on the quality of the husband’s/partner’s sperm

  • Free initial and follow up video consultations or scheduled appointments at Newlife
  • Personal international team coordinator to support throughout the whole process
  • Recruitment, screening, stimulation and egg collection of your egg donor**
  • Donor’s medications
  • All your treatment monitoring if performed in Greece
  • ICSI
  • Extended culture up to the blastocyst stage (day 5-6 of the embryo development)
  • Assisted hatching where indicated
  • Short term husband/partner sperm freezing
  • 1st embryo transfer (fresh or frozen)

  • Your preliminary tests/evaluation (blood tests, ultrasound scan)
  • Your medications
  • Embryo cryopreservation and storage:
    • 1-3 straws (containing 1-2 embryos): 300€
    • 4-5 straws (containing 1-2 embryos): 400€
    • 6-8 straws (containing 1-2 embryos): 600€
    • 9-more straws (containing 1-2 embryos): 800€
  • Annual embryo storage fee from the 2nd year onwards 200€
  • Your travel and accommodation costs
  • If not married notarial deed is required by law (150€). If married a copy of your marriage certificate is required
  • Any subsequent frozen embryo transfers (from cryopreserved surplus embryos) will cost 1400€

2. Advanced Egg Donation Package

Cost: 9900€*

Guarantee: At least four top quality blastocysts
There are certain restrictions entering the program based on the quality of the husband’s/partner’s sperm

** If the guaranteed number of blastocysts is not achieved with the first round of donor stimulation, the same (subject to donor availability) or a different egg donor of your choice will be screened and recruited for an additional round.
