Dimitrios Dovas, MD, DFFP
Obstetrician - Gynaecologist
Dimitrios is the Medical Director of Newlife Center of Reproductive Medicine, in Thessaloniki Greece and is also responsible for all international patients.
He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece in 1996. He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in England. He obtained the Diploma in Family Planning from the London Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecogists. He participated in the training of medical students and midwives. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the 2nd Obs & Gynae Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2004.
He is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and has lectured in many national and international conferences. He has published a large number of articles in Greek and international scientific journals.
Chrysa Karakosta, BSc, MSc
Lab Director & International Patient Coordinator
Chrysa is the Lab co-Director at Newlife Center of Reproductive Medicine, in Thessaloniki Greece, from the beginning of 2010 and the international patient coordinator.
She studied Applied Biology (BSc) at Kingston University, UK. She has two postgraduate titles: MSc Human Reproductive Biology from the Imperial College of London and a Diploma and Certificate in Clinical Embryology from the Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) Training Committee and the Institute of Biology (IOB), UK.
She specialized in IVF and ICSI at King’s College Hospital, London. She periodically visited The Bridge IVF Clinic, Lagos Nigeria to organize and supervise the laboratory set up. She held the position of Senior Clinical Embryologist in large IVF Centers in Thessaloniki from 2001 to the end of 2009. She is a certified Senior Clinical Embryologist by ESHRE. She is a member of the Pan-Hellenic Society of Clinical Embryologists (PEKE), ESHRE, and ALPHA Scientists in Reproductive Medicine. She was a board member of PEKE from 2005 to 2008.
Athanasios Pantelis, MD
Obstetrician - Gynaecologist
Athanasios is an Infertility Specialsit at Newlife Center of Reproductive Medicine. He graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2001. He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, completing his training in the 2nd Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2009. During his speciality, he had the opportunity to be trained in infertility, high-risk pregnancy, cervical pathology, endoscopic surgery and urogynaecology. Since 2010, he is a PhD student of Aristotle University, drafting a doctoral thesis on the study of biochemical and ultrasonographic markers for the prediction of preterm birth.
He is a member of the Greek Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society, the Greek Society of Perinatal Medicine, the Greek Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
He has participated in numerous scientific conferences and has published papers in international journals.
Afroditi Zisopoulou, BSc, MSc
Afroditi is the Lab co-Director at Newlife Center of Reproductive Medicine, in Thessaloniki Greece, from the beginning of 2010.
She studied Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She completed an MSc in Genetics at the same university and carried on with further studies in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany.
She set up and directed the IVF lab in large fertility units in Thessaloniki from 1992 to 2009. She is a certified Senior Clinical Embryologist by ESHRE. She is currently a Board member of the Pan-Hellenic Society of Clinical Embryologists (PEKE), ESHRE, and ALPHA Scientists in Reproductive Medicine.
Lia Kasapi BSc, MSc
Lia Kasapi has studied Biology in the “Universita’ degli Studi di Siena” in Italy, faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences – department of Physiopathology. Afterwards, she trained in different laboratories of Assisted Reproduction in Italy and in Greece. From 2002 to 2015 she worked as an embryologist in a known clinic of Assisted Reproduction in Thessaloniki.
She is a PhD candidate in the University of “Dimokriteio Panepistimio Thrakis” and her research interests are human oocyte in vitro maturation and fertility preservation through oocyte vitrification.
She is a member of the Hellenic Society of Clinical Embryologists (PEKE) and of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). She participates in scientific congresses and in publications of articles in scientific journals.
