Embarking on an egg donation journey is a significant and difficult step towards parenthood, and at Newlife IVF Greece, we're dedicated to making this process as smooth and stress-free as possible, especially for our international patients. We understand that travel and logistics can be a concern, which is why we offer flexible options designed to fit your life. Our priority is to combine top-tier medical care with practical convenience, maximizing your chances of success.
Let's explore the pathways available for your fresh donor egg cycle and the streamlined process for frozen donor eggs.

Fresh Donor Eggs: Tailored Travel Plans
For those choosing fresh donor eggs, we offer distinct logistical approaches to suit your preferences:
- The comprehensive visit
This version is efficient and allows us to get to know you better. Both partners travel to Greece for a brief 1-2 night stay. During this visit, you can complete any final preliminary tests, undergo a crucial 3D scan, and your partner can provide a semen sample for cryopreservation. It's also a wonderful opportunity to meet our team, helping us select the perfect donor for you. After this initial visit, we handle the donor matching and embryo creation. For your actual embryo transfer, only the female partner needs to return to Greece for just 1-2 days. - The split visit (for married couples)
If coordinating travel for both partners initially is challenging, this option allows the male partner to visit Greece for 1-2 nights to complete tests and cryopreserve a semen sample. The female partner can complete her preliminary assessments in her home country. Once the donor match is made and embryos are created, the female partner then travels to Greece for just 1-2 days for the frozen embryo transfer. - The Synchronized Cycle (recommended in specific cases)
For certain situations, both partners can complete all preliminary tests in their home country. We then coordinate your cycles with your chosen donor's cycle. While most monitoring can be done remotely, this option requires a longer stay of approximately 10-12 days in Greece for the actual treatment cycle. It's important to note that synchronized cycles can sometimes involve last-minute changes due to medical factors.
Frozen donor eggs: Simplicity and efficiency
Opting for frozen donor eggs often streamlines the process, making it very straightforward:
- Preliminary Steps: You can choose to complete all necessary preliminary investigations either in Greece or comfortably from your home country.
- Egg Coordination: You simply inform us of your chosen egg bank and arrange for your selected donor eggs to be shipped directly to our clinic.
- Male Partner Options: Your partner has flexibility, too! He can either travel to Greece for one night ahead of time to provide and cryopreserve a semen sample, or he can travel with you for the embryo transfer and provide a fresh sample on the day of egg thawing.
- Treatment & Transfer: Once the eggs are at our clinic, the female partner begins treatment in her home country to prepare her body. When the timing is right, you'll travel to Greece for the embryo transfer, usually requiring a short 1-2 day visit.
Your dedicated partner in parenthood
Regardless of the option you choose, our international team at Newlife IVF Greece is dedicated to supporting you at every stage. You'll have a dedicated coordinator as your main point of contact, guiding you through all the details of your trip and treatment, based on the medical team's expertise. Our primary goal is to be there for you – before, during, and after your treatment – on this challenging yet ultimately wonderful journey to build your family.l
We look forward to helping you achieve your dream.
